Stitching Blogger's QOTW - Thread Organisation

Thread organization: plastic bobbins, yes or no? How do you organize your threads?

I've always used bobbins, ever since the first skein of DMC I bought. I have the full set of DMCs, all neatly wound on their bobbins and stored in a plastic chest with 5 boxes that stack one above the other, I bought it from a DIY store but the compartments are exactly the right size for my bobbins. I've never really got on with any other system, for instance with floss bags I find they just slow me down. Each to her own, and I would probably get used to another way if I persisted with it, but I'm happy with my bobbins so why bother? I actually have two of the plastic chests, one for DMC and one for other threads such as Anchor (I only have about 150 of them), Kreiniks, Needlepaints, Caron Collection etc. I've run out of space though so I'll have to invest in another one soon.

Pushing on with Peacock Tapestry (aka The Vulture), I only have a little bit of the left side border and the backstitch left. I can't believe I'm so close to a HD with it after all these years! Yes, I know the BS will take a while, I really shouldn't have left it all till last but even so....watch this space!

I didn't get a chance to comment yesterday, but I hope your kids (and you) get to enjoy a visit with their grandparents.

The chest you store your floss in sounds neat. I wish I had something other than a sports bag to store all my plastic floss boxes in!

PT sounds close...keep going...each stitch gets closer to a finish!
